The god of thunder is here!!

The god of thunder is here and opened in cinemas on the 6th of May. I went to see it and would like to say it is what it is expected to be, an arrogant god who comes down to earth. The film is filled with comedic elements as Thor adjusts to life on earth. I loved the film and would recommend it to any film goer. REMEMBER TO STAY TIL AFTER THE CREDITS!! I found out whilst at the cinema know one seems to stay after the credits. However if you do for Thor you will be in for a treat.

Dimension Films' massively inevitable Halloween 3D now has a writer and director, in the form of Patrick Lussier. Rob Zombie is making The Blob next, and probably wasn't interested anyway. The film was roundly trounced by The Final Destination at the box office, but that hasn't stopped the Weinsteins putting the next instalment on a fast track for a 2010 release.  Some reports last week put Steve Miner (Friday the 13th parts 2 and 3, Halloween H20) behind the camera, but that always seemed spurious. Lussier makes more sense, having been working with Dimension in one capacity or another forever, editing the Scream series and directing the DTV Dracula films. Most recently he was behind My Bloody Valentine, so he has the 3D skills to pay the bills. I say keep them coming everybody loves a bit of Michael Myers.

Green Hornet cast is growing

The latest names to be added to the now filming of The Green Hornet. The two new names are Tom Wilkinson and David Harbour. Wilkinson previously worked on Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind with Michel Gondry.  Harbour is known for his work in Revolutionary Road and Quantum Of Solace. There is no indication as of who they will play yet.

Edward James Almos from Battlestar Gallactica is set to appear in the film. Nicolas Cage is heard to be in negotiations to star in the film. They join Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz and Jay Chou in the fi;lm which is set to be screened on the 17th december 2010.

Iron Man 2 in 3-D?

Could a 3-D transfer be in the works for the first and second films?

Rumors have begun to circulate that Paramount is possibly considering releasing Iron Man 2 in 3-D, according to website Aint it cool news. Sources there indicate that a one-minute demo exists of footage taken from the upcoming comic-book sequel and transferred to 3-D via a rather costly conversion process. That process, which has been successfully tested on previously-released films and is currently being used on Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland, is capable of taking a 2-D image and adding the extra dimension necessary for a fully 3-D presentation.

Here is the newest poster for Bad Lieutenant to be released starring Nicolas Cage. I"m personally a massive fan of the original Bad Lieutenant starring Harvey Keitel. I feel he portrayed the character perfectly. Can Cage really live up to the role??? Well after Bangkok Dangerous and Knowing he has a lot of work to do.

Bloody Disgusting have revealed that work is steaming ahead on a sequel to 2007's vampire graphic novel adaptation 30 Days of Night, which starred Josh Hartnett, Melissa George and Danny Huston in an adventure about a vampire attack in the Arctic circle winter.

Entertaining but flawed (Alaskan readers can correct us here, but when the sun came back up wouldn't it only have stayed up for a matter of minutes?) the original topped the US box office on the weekend it was released, so the most surprising thing about the follow-up, subtitled Dark Days, and again adapted straight from the comics series, is that it's taken this long.

It doesn't sound like any of the original cast will be returning however, and the director will be Ben Ketai, who shot a couple of webisode stories to accompany part one - original director David Slade is, of course, wrestling with a different sort of vampire on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. BD say that the story will involve a recast Stella (George's character) joining some vigilante vamp hunters to get revenge on "Lilith, the vampire responsible for the attack on the Alaska town." Yes, you may've thought Danny Huston was responsible, but it turns out it was all his girlfriend's fault really.

No word yet on whether original producers Sam Raimi and Bob Tapert are involved. The script will be by Ketai and Steve Niles, who writes the comics. Shooting starts next month in Vancouver; a change from the original, which shot in New Zealand.
