I'm proud to announce that the return of the turtles is eminent. A new teenage mutant ninja turtles LIVE ACTION film is in the works and hopes to be made by 2011.

The film is heard to be going back to its roots by giving it a batman begins style too it. Peter Laird is on board as executive producer. he believes that the new movie "will remain true to the spirit of the original comic book." Laird also mentions that the new movie might also a new face replacement technology, which would allow the turtles to be much more expressive. Think of the way the faces of the monsters in "Where The Wild Things Are" move. I believe this would be perfect for a modern day audience.

I would have to say, after the release of TMNT I think the turtles need a new angle. This film was terrible and had too much of a "kiddie" feel to it. If they decided to pull away from this and go for the look of the original Kevin Eastman/Peter Laird comic, they may lose a younger audience. However, look at the direction Batman went and we all know what new heights that was taken too!!
